By granting this award, it recognizes the men and women who make an impact in the community by showing excellence, initiative, potential, and true leadership. These individuals contribute the professional, exemplary skills and talents they have to offer. This honor is given annually, and while only one nominee will receive the ATHENA Award, all nominees will be honored at this celebration.  The ATHENA Award is part of an international nonprofit organization working to empower women in a leadership environment. They support and assist women, and those who inspire them through specific, powerful programs that positively impact and develop the leader within them.
